2012 CBTF Superheroes 5K Walk/Run a Success!

Over 800 people registered for the Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation's (CBTF) Superheroes 5K and Kids' Fun Run.  Team Jaimin brought the largest team and supporters, raising over $15,000 in honor of Jaimin; Team Awesome Alicia 2012 raised over $11,000, also bringing their awesome supporters, and Team Yehudis was the third highest fundraising team and also brought a large group of friends and families again this year. Tay's Team and Team Alexandra, nearly tied on the Thursday before race day were in the top five for raising funds. Each of the top five team captains were presented award medals in appreciation for their extraordinary efforts.

All of the teams did an outstanding job rallying friends and family.  It was a gloriously beautiful fall day, all of the children that participated in the Kids' Fun Run proudly received their medals, plenty of food to nosh on, and awards were presented to the top three overall and the top three finishers in each age category.

Words cannot begin to express our sincere and deep appreciation to all of the fantastic volunteers, teams, individuals, and supporters.  Sam's Army set up a table at the event.  Team Yehudis provided an opportunity for supporters to purchase her beautiful hand-made crocheted items to add to her team's contribution toward research.

We also had sponsorship support, donated toward CBTF's primary initiative to fund pediatric brain tumor research to find cures and improve quality of life for the children.  Team Jaimin obtained support from DIOA/GOCA; TREVORstrong obtained sponsorship from Whittle's Physical Therapy, Iron Man ReShon from Promised Land Baptist Church and Radio-One, and Team Jordan from the Second Chance Band, JKS Spirit Fund, Wesley Chapel, and the Urbana VFD.

CBTF felt truly blessed to have the dedicated support of every single participant, supporter, volunteer, vendor, individual, and community.  We could not achieve our mission goals without all of our supporters.  Thank you.  Join us again next year for the next Superheroes event!
